The OG dream hampton just tweeted out this link to a trailer for a new film called “Wolf.”
It appears to be about a young boy who gets molested by his preacher.
That’s not a story we never heard before. But with “Wolf” it has black folks, a mega church and a Bishop. I wonder where they got this idea from?
Kudos to director Ya’Ke Smith for tackling this. For the most part black folks in the church have still been silent about what went down at New Birth with Eddie Long and his sex abuse case. Some have protested in silence by not going to New Birth anymore, but, the guy is still preaching like nothing happened and the “victims” have gone from being labeled as money hungry to not heard from at all.
I grew up going to New Birth. I stopped going years ago, way before the “shit went down” and haven’t been in a rush to go back there or to church period ever since. Yeah, I’ve been to a couple churches since then, but for the most part I’ve been praying and “reading my bible at home” like the late great Pimp C once said.
I still have a long ass post in the queue that I wrote about the Eddie Long stuff that I never got around to finishing and posting. Hopefully I’ll get around to it sooner or later.
But yeah, check out this trailer. He looks to have hit the nail on the head.
