This past Friday I had the pleasure of hosting Schoolboy Q’s first headlining show in Atlanta. I hosted Kendrick Lamar’s first two Atlanta shows last year and Q was his hypeman, so it’s dope to see him come back on his own. Especially with his new album Habits & Contradictions doing well on the charts.
After he got done with his show we caught up with him backstage to talk about headlining his own shows, raising a daughter and why he chose to sell his new project instead of give it away for free.
We also went out in the crowd and got some of his fans to ask him some questions, interesting stuff.
And shout out to We Are CRU (Creative Revolution Union) for putting this together. This was a essentially a free show, all you had to do was bring two canned goods. Folks who came after 10pm only paid $10. By the end of the night, we raised over 600 cans for Hosea Feed The Hungry. Hip Hop for a good cause…you can’t beat that.
Check it out.
