Trouble-”World Goes Round” [video]

Well, here it is. The latest video from Duct Tape Ent.’s newest artist Trouble.

I wasn’t actually around for this shoot, but the homies Decatur Dan and Whiteboy D damn near walked me through the whole thing as it was being filmed. Dan said this was the first time he ever worked with a new artist without having to “direct” him. You can pretty much tell from the pain and angst that Trouble feeds the camera, that he didn’t need to act or be directed. He just went there all by himself.

Like I said in an earlier post, these are the types of visuals that I think really wins an artist support from fans. I could be wrong though. Alot of folks may be drawn to the “Bussin” video more than this one. But, we live in an age where folks want to know each and everything about you whether its through youtube foolery or back to back tweets. But, here is an instance where you get to know more about the person without any antics. You see his mother and grandmother in the video and you see him visiting his younger brother’s grave site. I don’t know that much about Trouble, I’ve only met him once, but he says enough in this song to make you feel like you have some sort of conversation piece the next time you saw him.

When I got a preview of this clip a couple of weeks ago, I told Dan and D that the song and video reminded me of one of my favorite rapper’s, Mac Mall, first video “Ghetto Theme” (that featured and was directed by 2Pac). Neither one of them had ever heard the song or seen the video before. So of course, I felt like the old head in the room at that point, but it was cool to see a new synergy almost recreating a feeling similar to that, years later, unknowingly. Guess this may be a small sign that the world indeed….goes round.

You can check out the rest of Trouble’s music on his mixtape, December 17th.
